Kathy,
Anxious to stay in touch. My doc has recommended combining Celexa and Reboxitine once the latter becomes available in the U.S. At present, I am taking Celexa in combination with Desipramine (an old trycyclic) for its noradrenergic properties.
I have to say that the combination produces the best results I have had except for Nardil, one of the MAO inhibitors. I had to quit Nardil to undergo some elective surgery and am waiting for Reboxitine to come out. If they delay Reboxitine much longer, I will probably change to Parnate, another MAO inhibitor.
The key to elevating my mood seems to lie in combining both serotonin-enhancing medicine with norepinephrine-enhancing medicine. If you react the same way, you might ask your doc about the efficacy of Nardil or Parnate pending release of Reboxitine.
Does my experience resemble yours?
