> Not long ago, someone wrote a very impressive account of how he found a pdoc he could work with. It was an amazingly thorough search, took lots of initiative. In it, he recounted some of the questions he asked prospective docs. I tried a search, but could not seem to find it. Does anyone remember the post I am talking about? Will the impressive poster please step forward? Thanks.
Not sure, but that might have been me. I used everything to search...yellow pages, clinics, references, etc...and then used letters and phone calls to screen. No matter how I found someone's name, I was looking for these characteristics: 1)A sense that they are in love with what they do, 2)They are accessible by phone or short-notice visit when needed, 3)They could answer some pharmacology questions indicating 'expert' experience.
Those questions are somewhere in Depression Central. Click on tips. After it takes you there, click on Depression Central on the left side of the page. I do not remember where those questions were in Depression Central, but I'll go look around and let you know if you don't find them first.
In any event, seeing a second pdoc sounds like a wonderful idea to me. The more effort put into finding the 'right' one will reward you in the end. Hang in there!
