Hyperforin has recently been indicated to be the primary, but not only, component responsible for SJW's anti-depressant effects. I'm currently taking 1800 mg, but with no noticeable effect upon my SOCIAL PHOBIA. Perhaps there's a longer period to begin feeling a therapeutic effect (???)

I breifly experimented with 2700mgs. of Movana daily at bedtime with few benefits on my social phobia but very good results on depressioin. One problem may have been my time of dose. I tolerated the dose well but it made me very tired which is why I chose to take it before bed. I now take 900 at night and 10mgs. of prozac in the morning. Thankfully I have achieved very good results on both depression and phobias. Hyperforin has been shown to be the re-uptake inhibiting component in SJW. It blocks the reuptake of NE-DA-GABA-5ht/L-Glutamate respectively. I definitely do get a antidepressant effect from SJW but it is very subtle and I don't start to notice it until I have quit taking it. Good luck
