> Would appreciate any info from people taking depakote with Neurontin. Have taken depakote alone for years but have tapered down to 250 mgs/day due to extreme fatigue. Will be adding Neurontin to the depakote to try to get my mood more stabilized without adding more fatigue. Has anyone found Neurontin in small doses to be the cause of sleepiness?

My teenage son takes both Neurontin and Depakote with good results. He's BP I with primarily depressive symptoms. Depakote made him tired and sleep a lot. When Neurontin was tried as a single mood stabilizer, it was too activating for him--it did not make him sleepy at all. So Depakote was added to balance out Neurontin, and he's been very stable on this combination along with other neuroleptic meds.
