Laura, I don't have any answers to your questions, but have some questions about the whole issue of weight gain on meds.

I had never thought of the possibility of attributing some or all of my recent weight gain to my meds. I think that is because I have struggled with my weight since adolescence. In the past couple of years, my weight has shot way way way up, way beyond the range it had previously fluctuated in. I think it is reasonalbe to attribute it to the fact that I haven't been exercising, and I tend to use food to numb my feelings, and becuase of my depression, I have been even more sedentary. I guess the only way to tell if the meds have exacerbated the situation is to see what happens if I do start and maintain an exercise program, and eat more healthfully( with depression, I also have tended to eat ready-made food, which is usually high in fat, low in nutrients)and get out of the house more.
