Hi,
> How long have you been taking the Parnate after the Nardil stopped working. I am very afraid that the same thing will happen with the Nardil, and like I said before, my options are few.
Sherry,
The first time I took Parnate I took it for over two years generally playing with the dosage between 40-50mg.
I had taken Nardil for three separate trials before I ever took Parnate.
When I was taking the Nardil I would hit "a wall" where basically I felt that if I could increase the dosage I might continue to do well. (This had been done with countless other AD's, putting me on way over the recommended dose,) but both pdoc's involved over this time period insisted people did not "get used" to Nardil like they might another AD.
The Nardil trials only worked for months for me (between six to nine approx.)
_However_, if I had been able to increase the Nardil dose a bit (i.e. the usual Parnate dose is 30mg and it doesn't work for me at all until it is over 40mg,) the story might have been different.
So.. Elizabeth...
Might have a very good point in trying Marplan.
At least if you consider Nardil make sure your pdoc would support a higher than average dose, if things seem to be working out well, but just need some fine tuning.
Good Luck,
Gretchen
