What I said was that the two drugs I know of, through my work with animals rather than humans, which show good or mixed results in lowering cortisol are Pergolide and an anti-histimine called something like cipraheptidine. The ciproheptidine studies are mixed, though everyone I know using it has had good results on it. The Pergolide is more expensive, but much more effective. It's a parkinson's drug, and I have no idea what it does or how it works.
Sorry if it sounds as though I'm comparing you to an animal. It's just that that's where my expertise is. Also, it's where my heart is, so take it as a compliment - and then talk to your doctor!
As for our similar experiences, my doctor on first prescribing Serzone shared this information with me when I asked what sort of a drug it was: "It's an anti-depressant. Just take it." Not a word about side effects, even though my blood pressure is about 90/60, which makes me nervous of drugs that can cause hypotension. Gee, I wonder why?
Good luck, Glenn.
