excessive salivation

Posted by Jason on June 21, 1999, at 0:53:48

I have had a problem for almost ten yrs with excessive salavation, where my mouth constantly fills up with saliva during the day. This started when I was roughly 15 yrs old. It causes a great deal of stress and distress for me in all areas of my life, particularly socially. What could be causing this symptom? Are there any particular medications I could use to counter this? Lifestyle changes? I should note that I have been taking a low dosage of Luvox for about a yr and half which has helped moderately with this problem, but I dont believe my condition has anything to do with OCD or depression. I just have to swallow all the time.
