> I have been taking Celexa sine 5/6. It was great for my depression, but my memory has steadily gotten worse. I'm going to switch to another drug when I see the Dr. next week. I have tried paxil, zoloft, sersone and wellbutrin before. Went off paxil and zoloft due to sexual side affects. Serzone and Wellbutrin both made me extremely irritable. Anyone have any suggestions for a drug to take which improves memory, but does not effect sex drive?
Here's a 'supplement' you can ask your doctor about, Huperzine A. Huperzine A helps improve memory in some people. It can be bought in health food stores. It works the same way as the gov. approved medicines for Alzheimers (i.e. Tacrine) but is claimed to lack the neg. side effects of those medicines. Specifically, it prevents the breakdown of acetycholine(sp?), a neurotransmitter involved in memory and which tends to be depleted in the brains of people sufferring from Alzheimers.
