Dwight,

If Nardil has helped, perhaps the closest thing you could try would be Marplan (isocarboxazid). It's a similar MAOI that's not as notorious for weight gain, although there's apparently some debate as to whether it's as effective as Nardil overall. Could be worth trying--it's just been reintroduced in the U.S. after not being available for a few years. Don't quote me on this, but I *think* you can move reasonably safely and quickly from one to the other--there were some posts concerning this recently...

There's always the "other" MAO, Parnate, too. People seem to love or hate it: very much an "upper" and a bit less easily tolerated from what I've heard--also *not* a simple switch from Nardil if I've got my drug interactions right. But if SSRIs haven't helped, MAOIs might be your best bet (they have a good track record in social phobia)--I suppose you could also try a tricyclic like imipramine (after appropriate washout of Nardil), but these tend to cause some weight gain too and probably aren't a top choice. I'm also not sure about Wellbutrin: haven't seen any studies on it in social phobia, but its dopaminergic aspects would perhaps make it worth trying (though again, after Nardil washout!). I'm sure others will come along and throw in their own suggestions to join (or contradict) these.
Good luck,
JD
