Experience with effexor

My doc just started me on effexor. 37.5 mg. time released. I am also taking topomax and klonopin. I am bipolar. She told me to take it at night to help me sleep. Well, it helps me sleep, but at 8:30 the next morning. She has now told me to take it earilir in the day since it appears to be an 11 hour time release. What has been others experience with this drug. I have heard ggod things abaout it in terms of it being an anit-depressent but I am a zombie all day. How long does this sode effect last.
