> Hi everybody writing to/from psycho babble, my name is elizabeth (call me lithiumliz if you like) and i've been on over 15 meds in about five years
**********************************************
Although, I cannot say I have had the variety of meds, I have had a multitude of variety in mixed emotion on , but usuaully off meds. Lets just say that medicine "holidays" aren't my forte'. To me a day with lithium and after dinner decaf cappiccinos are days to treasure right along with those nights of dreamless sleep. I kinda like to revel in an even keel existence while in the midst of chaotic society.
During the times when I was the least medicated I felt the most vulnurable, the most gullable, the easily led astray, and the number one enemy of my own mind. I was the problem and therefore could not be part of the sol'n.
But...wonders of wonders...whats in that pill? For reasons vaguely related to salt or something I suddenly (after 2-3 weeks) feel human and functional again. But the best part was those chastising, bitching, bemoaning, voices weren't telling me off anymore. It was like the 2 for 1 sale at my local psych. ward.
Well, time does roll on and I'm moving on to newer meds, but it's too soon to make a judgement call on them yet. Maybe a few years down the line I'll be back on old tryed and true lithium if this one poops out. Or maybe they'll put a new face on old lith.
