Zoloft, Pediatric Use

Posted by Judy on April 18, 1999, at 14:13:12

My 9 year old son, with ADD and a non-verbal learning disability has had increasing difficulty with social situations, taking responsibility, and "short temper"
His teachers describe his a withdrawn in the school setting and non participatory. My son claims he is often teased, but gets into scuffles with the other students. He had been on dexedrine spansules. His neurologist is now prescribing Zoloft on a trial basis. Will this medication address the issues of ADD/oppositional behavior, or just the issues of potential depression/withdrawal?

Thanks!
