Has anyone ever spoken to you abou the differential diagnosis of adhd vs ptsd? I beg you to look into this. As a clinical specialist in adolescent psychiatry, I so commonly see pts dx with adhd that are ptsd. DO NOT LET THE SCHOOLS PUSH ADHD ON YOU. It is their way of compartmentalizing any behavioral problems so as to avoid providing for care. (in my state, the school system is responsible for fianancial payment of residential treatment for those children they cannot educate because of behavioral or emotional concerns) Also, has your son ever been tried on Naltrexone? Used as a narcotic antagonist, I have had great success in using this agent in pts with cd, as i appears to take away the "rush" brought about from activites such as stealing etc. 25mg once a day is a starting dose with increases to 50mg twice a day.
