As far as the weight gain went, I stopped craving carbohydrates(when I am depressed I really really really crave them)and that was my biggest change as far as my diet went.
I have found that I gain weight on most AD's I have been on. It just slows down my metabolism. I have more atypical depression with periods of hynomania. When medicated, the cycles are gone. The highs, though horrible and always led to the downs, were great for keeping weight off. Now on Celexa, it is the same thing with the slowed metabolism (though the level mood is nice) but I have finally turned a corner and am back to eating several small meals a day. This keeps my metabolism up so I can burn calories better. I have lost about 6 pounds. Now if I can just keep it up! One binge and I am back on the roller coaster. One day at a time.
