focal seizures

Posted by Juanita on March 23, 1999, at 11:41:10

My son was diagnosed with focal seizures when he was 15 months. He is now 2 years old and takes depakote to control his seizures. He was on pheobarbutial and tegertol but had two seizures on both medications. He has had an EEG and extensive blood work done which resulted in no abnormailities. Should we request a CAT scan to be done on my son for these type of seizures? He has had no head trauma and my deliver was by C-Seciton. What is the percentage of children that "grow out of " having seizures and especially this type? Is there any new technology out there that I may want to explore in finding a cause and cure for my son's seizures?

Thanks in advance
Juanita
