I am a 47 yo single professional male and been on Zoloft for some 5-6 months. Started on 50mg for about 2 months and found a generally good result- evenly balanced not experiencing any really depressed moments, or any real highs - just nice.
THEN went up to 100mg daily dose and after about 10-14 days I felt really happy , great, content and my happy state was even commented on by a number of my work colleages (who don't know that I was on anything) Being in sales and generally having a very succesful period at this point may have coloured this situation too!!
I Stayed on the 100mg for 2 months or so,then went back to 50mg and found my level of inner happiness and contentment and general enthusiasm had slipped noticably and again even commented on by my colleages. ALSO note my sales success had slipped TOO, so this again may have coloured the situation
I THEN went back to 100mg and after 5 weeks found no general change in mood...(again the sales success was still poor-average)
SO went off it completely about 5 days ago because of the difficulty in reaching ejaculation, even with a new partner (of a very exciting age/feel etc) This has always been a problem when on Zoloft ( and Prozac some years ago) I don't have too much of a problem getting an erection, just getting to ejaculate: it can take some 30 minutes of intercourse and then with only about a 60% chance of finally making it.
NOW going "cold turkey", I am experiencing some "waves" of light-headedness, possibly to the point of dizzines or momments of mild-confusion. I am aware that the dose should be reduced in stages etc but because of the ejaculation problem I have stopped suddenly so as to be " in form" when my partner gets back from holidays in 7 days. (My prescription had also just expired - but supply is not the problem)
HOWEVER, whats the best way to enjoy the benefits of ZOLOFT without the side effects
ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME
