I was given hydrocodone compound syrup for a cough, and was surprised at how wonderful I felt. I'd been taking Paxil for over a year, first for panic/anxiety attacks, then for depression. My doctor switched me to Celexa when I complained that I felt "flat" and had no motivation to anything. Frankly, the cough medicine works better, but I'm afraid to tell him. I can't imagine he'd approve of my taking codeine on a regular basis. I'm almost wishing the cough would stay around awhile.
