My Meds

Posted by Heather Anglin on January 22, 1999, at 1:03:31

I am wondering if anyone else is on as many meds as I am and if they are, are they on the same ones, or different ones... Let me give you a little history of myself. I was diagnosed with ADD,OCD, and clinical depression in February of 1998. I have been under a doctors care since then. I am on Dexedrine, 20 mgs, twice a day; Buspar, 15 mgs, once a day; Prozac, 40 mgs, once a day; Clonidine, 0.1mg, once at night for sleeping; along with Amitriptline, 75 mgs, at night also for sleeping. The other percription drug that I am on is Claritin, 10 mgs, once a day.

Without the day time meds I don't wake up, and without the night time meds I don't sleep. I have been told that I am over-medicated, but I am not functional in society without the meds. I tried Methelfenadate, but that did not do any good. I took that 3 times a day.

Would anyone have any posible opinions (I know you are not a doctor) on how to and when to take the meds?

I take the Dexedrine, Prozac, Buspar, and Claritin in the morning between 8 and 10. I take the second dose of Dexedrine 6 hours later (I set an alarm to know when that is), and I take the night time meds between 8-10 at night.

I appreciate any information/opinions that you can give me! THANK YOU very much for your concern and help!
