Not a rising tide of depression, say, or whatever? Well, good luck. Take all the time you need as long as you are moving in the right direction overall.
I stopped taking Xanax entirely after adding in only .5 mg klonopin a day. I have withdrawn from klonopin before for extended periods of time. I found the first 2-3 days rough, but it passed easily enough as long as I had someone to talk to. I am taking klonopin again, now, but for other reasons. I don't seem to have much problem switching on and off of it, as I have had with other benzos (Halcion, e.g.) Hope this helps.
