Vitamin Lyzine???

Posted by Connie Hammond, R.Ph. on December 8, 1998, at 15:10:07

I was asked by a client about the use of "vitamin
lyzine" as a natural source of lithium. He wants to
know if it can be used in bipolar disorder, and, if so,
how much. This sounds dangerous to me. I have called
a few health food stores and I am thinking that he may
mean the amino acid lysine which could theoretically
interfer with CNS uptake of typtophan. Has anyone
heard of this before? Thank you in advance.
