Of course they are POTENTIALLY neurotoxic; they might do damage to neurons, as MIGHT many apparently harmless substances all around us. (Of course the danger is greater with powerful psychotropic drugs than with, say, cabbage.) But to act wisely in an intrinsically uncertain world, we need weigh the probabilities and magnitudes of potential benfits and harms in light of the best knowledge we have, and try to make the best of things. We shall often be wrong, sometimes trgically so. So?
Suse: If you're having awful side effects, you should contact your doctor. He or she may add something to lessen the discomfort, change dosage, change meds, etc. Or, it might be best to ride it out a few weeks until the side effects subside; i.e., the eventual berfits may be worth tthe initial discomfort--like surgery. Second, if by 'toxic' you meant that damage was being done to neurons, that cannot be infered from how bad you feel. I assure you that almost all us drugged loonies carry on a love/hate relationship with meds. At any rate, I hope you feel better, if not now, very soon. My new name:
another druuged loonie
