I've been trying to research amantadine myself. Haven't gotten ahold of any yet. It mitigates tremors caused by wellbutrin (anti-seizure effect). The WEIRD thing is that, at least in some German studies, they've found a large minority of depressives positive for the Borna virus (in the brain, not just the blood), known to cause "apathy" in horses, and that amantadine does in fact knock out Borna virus.
So do we all have viruses making us depressed, and anti-virals are the answer, or is Borna just a red herring and amantadine just coincidentally anti-viral and also neurotropic?
Haven't found anyone outside Germany who's onto this, yet.
My belief is that in things psychiatric, if you're not confused, you're not thinking hard enough...
