Wellbutrin and Zoloft

Posted by Frank on September 27, 1998, at 23:24:44

150 mgs wellbutrin 2x a day and 25mgs Zoloft 1x a day
I was presribed Wellbutrin to quit smoking, which I am happy to say is working very well. I have not had nicotine, in any form, for over 3 mo.s now. I have gained 10 lbs. in 3 mo.s. Don't know if it is from quitting smoking or Wellbutrin. I have had a side effect, I must get up several times a night to urinate. It is annoying, however was worth it for the other benifits I was getting from the wellbutrin. I had a major mental breakdown in '84 and beleive I was misdiagnosed. So I had shyed away from shrinks since. I've been deppressed most of my life. After 4 weeks on wellbutrin, I experienced a 180 turn around. I was happy, and no more low self esteem. I related this to my MD and he decided to keep me on it. He also prescribed Zoloft for another problem. I have recently noticed that the wellbutrin isn,t as effective for the depression, and have been dreaming about smoking cigs and cigars and have had craving for nicotine during the days,(although not bad enough to start smoking again). Also I had once run out of wellbutrin for
3 1/2 days and experienced extreme drowsiness and fatigue and laziness so much that I slept about 75% of the 3 1/2 days. I am not asking for advice, I,m just sharing my experiences in hope it may be of some help to others.
