Could you pray for me?

Posted by Spriggy on May 2, 2005, at 16:39:41

I am at a really difficult time in my life right now. I am physically sick and exhausted. We still aren't in our house and it looks like it will take at least another 3 weeks to complete it. So we are staying with the in laws. They are great people but it's still stressful being in someone else's house with two boys', one who is autistic.

My autistic son is having a very hard time adjusting to all this life change right now and he is acting out badly at school. He is usually very gentle, and mild mannered and suddenly he is hitting other kids' and even his teacher (this is SO not like him). He has never been agressive before. I think it's just too much change for him.

I go to another specialist tomorrow. My doctor is now mentioning things like MS to me which freaks me out totally!

Pray for me.

Life just got knocked up another notch.

((((Spriggy))))

I am sorry that things just seem to go from bad to worse. You have been through so much, my heart truly goes out to you and your family. You may not realize it or even feel it right now, but you have displayed such strength through every setback and disappointing doctor's visit, that you are an inspiration. I will offer you whatever strength I have to help sustain you as your struggle continues. And, I am sure so many others here with offer you strength as well. I am not always the most consistent when it comes to my faith, so I don't know how much God hears my prayers, but I will certainly include you in my prayers and will say special prayers for you and your family in the days ahead.

Please hang in there Spriggy, and keep the faith that this (all of it) too shall pass. Take very good care of you.

All my best to you and your family,

Tamara

Oh, Spriggy!

It makes you wonder some times, just how much one person is meant to endure...

I'm so sorry for all the unsettledness in your life... being out of your home is so stressful. It seems as if your son is being affected by it as well. I hope his teachers are understanding, and can hang in there with him, til he's settled again.

And, it's wretched, not knowing the answers about your health. MS is a scary thing to consider! I have two cousins with it... and I remember a few years ago, when they thought that one of my chidren might have Cystic Fibrosis... they told me he might not survive adulthood. I was in limbo abuot it for weeks... (he's fine, but it was frightening).

We're a bit "in between" houses, too... having bought our "dream house" in Oregon, and having to sell ours here... and it's taking an inordinate amount of time (in this hot market) to sell it. I'm fearful of losing the dreamhouse, and finding my faith being challenged... (wondering if I "heard" God on the move, the house, etc.).

And, regarding health, I found out that my 21 years of being bulimic have taken their toll... I have the precurrsor to osteoporosis... no idea what that means yet -- I see the specialist this Friday.

I didn't want to focus on me, so much as to let you know that I can relate, in a way...

I know you know you're in God's hands, and that He can see you through this... but sometimes it's just plain tough to go through things. Especially the "unknowns".

God, You alone know what Spriggy needs right now. I ask that You grant her Your comfort and peace... that You provide her with direction and leading regarding her son. Let Your peace settle down on him, too -- reach him as only You can. Surround that whole family with the assurance that You are leading and guiding them, and that Your perfect will is being done for them... no matter what it looks like at any given moment.

Let people come alongside, to help carry the weight, to help them know they're not alone.

I ask for Your timing regarding their new home.

I ask for Your healing regarding Spriggy's health... speak good news through her doctor. Prepare her for the words she'll be hearing.

In Your name, Amen.

Shalom, Dena

Oh Spriggy! It isn't the mold? At least an MRI can definitively dx it. And you know you are in my prayers. I can't wait until we can speak together again. I truly love you my friend. Fondly, Phillipa

I pray that you will have the strength to deal with the challenges that life has sent you. And that the love and commitment in your family will serve as a source of strength and comfort. And that at the same time, the love and commitment in your family will be strengthened by the challenges.

Spriggy,

I have really been missing your posts. Take care my dear. You are often in my thoughts and prayers. In some ways I've been "kicked up a notch" this week, too. May the God of all comfort, wrap His loving arms around you and fill you with His peace!

You do all know she's traveling and probably in Alabama visiting with her dying father now. Waiting for her Husband to find them a place to live or still with her inlaws. Fondly, phillipa

Yes, Phillipa, I did know she was going to Alabama to visit her family. I had forgotten that her father was dying, but I think I'm fairly up to date on her mold mess. I can still miss her can't I?

Hugs,
MidnightBlue

Spriggy, I owe you one. I'm a nasty creep of a non-believer but I believe in prayer. In another post you mentioned mold and sinus problems. My wife suffers greatly and so I'm going mold hunting. I have a good idea where to look and I've got bleach and a sprayer. But you mentioned lupus. That's become an epidemic among women. I think you should start investigating vitamin supplementation, diets high in essential vegetable minerals, essential oils and fats to boost your immune system. I once thought this was junk...a scam,a money-maker, but I think food is a fuel and a builder and I've found stuff like folic acid and b-12 helps me to not hit the bottle. I'm a stone alcoholic. I can drink and appear sober. And tell myself that all is well even when I get booze sick. I also have heart disease and I know that diet and supplementation help me. I'll pray each time I slug my vitamin e and b, etc. I'll try to think of you in prayer...I don't pray but I talk to myself and I might as well talk to god too. Cockeyed

Dearest Spriggy,

I just myself posted another prayer request and then when I looked through recent posts I saw yours from last month.

The prayer you wrote me for my first request a couple of months ago was so incredibly moving and from the heart that I have read it many many time. A few lines in particular I even just repeat to myself over and over.

I see that your request is several weeks old and I hope so badly that things have eased for you even just a bit. I do not know you as well as others on this board do and do not know too many of the details of all you have endured. But I do know something of your wonderful spirit.

I want you to know that however your situation has changed since the post I am responding to, I am praying deeply for you right now. I ask God to engulf you with his love right now and lift you from these burdens that seem almost too much to bear. Please, God, hear this woman's pleas. I know that she loves you with all her heart and that it is a genuine love that triumphs even when she feels forsaken. She is someone who is able to truly feel your presence and I ask you to let her know again that you are right there right now. Please lead her through these struggles. Please hold her and comfort her.

Squiggy, I really don't know you at all. But please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have thought of you so often repeating in my mind those few lines I refered to earlier that you wrote for me. They were about not knowing why God makes us walk through the wilderness the way he does. But then you said, "But believe me when I tell you, he will not leave you there. He will get you safely to the other side."

I am going to bed now and will definitely pray for your relief.

Spector
