I am concerned that we might get off-track from the sales info.

By off-track, I mean get away from the topic of how to make sales, and onto an unrelated topic.

When the wife accepted the appt she was drunk and she knew it would make her husband mad. I have no more details. That's the scenario.

No, not a plastic surgeon Lou. I think my posterior will survive just fine.

I do however see my pdoc monday, which might be a good thing.

The 7 fears to overcome to succed in sales -part 5

Posted by Lou Pilder on July 17, 2002, at 17:50:36

In reply to The 7 fears to overcome to succed in sales -part 4, posted by Lou Pilder on July 17, 2002, at 10:21:25

Friends,
In sales, we must overcome the fear of what others will think of you. the people in your office or workplace are driven by the world's methods. The office usually has a "salesperson of the month" award, or a board with how many sales you made for the month. The world method uses competition to "motivate" the sales staff. So you have to overcome this type of fear. The fear of being less than others in number of sales. It is the fear of humiliation.
Lou

Sorry Lou, carry on without me. I've seen enough. (nm)

I do think Phil's idea of using an example to illustrate the point was a good one, and usually very helpful to me when I'm trying to understand something as it puts it in context.

So how about this scenario.

You are a copier seller for a newish local company. It is your job to call various businesses from, oh I don't know enough about where this information can be obtained, say, the telephone book. You want to sell them a copier, not necessarily the most expensive one, because the main money really comes from the service contract. So you are allowed to sell them the copier that really does best fit their needs.

There's the scenario.
