Tetanus Toxin constituent may treat depression

Isn't it weird? I also heard about malaria treating "schizophrenia". It seems so complex and we know so little!

Thanks for sharing.

I will now go cut myself on some old rusty nails.

I had concerns sharing this. Please any desperate readers: Don't try this at home.

I would have said "what a splendid idea" but then I remembered that this is not a "normal" forum.

Is there something abnormal about it? If so, what?

People that frequent this board could be very desperate. Not necessarily the ones who write here.

It was a little over the top, but with reason. I have had someone approach me saying he had serotonin syndrome and claimed I said what he did was ok. I microdose 5-htp on a low dose of antidepressant. He didn't microdose and took a full dose of antidepressant. Yet he felt I said it was ok when I didn't.

That was kind of a shock. Even if I had said what he claimed, I am a guy on the internet with no medical education whatsoever. If you take everyones word on the internet, you won't survive a day.

Yes. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

In general, mixing serotonergic drugs should be avoided. There is the potential for real harm.

This being said, the literature is full of cases where people successfully combine contraindicated serotonergic drugs. It is also full of cases where people do so with significant consequence.

I took SSRIs with selegiline (10 mg). I forgot the details, and the devil is in the details, or in other words, it's the dose that makes the poison. You never read about dangerous adverse effects from eg. 5 mg of sertraline with a MAOI.

Right but for someone else, it may not be ok.
