I feel so much better, but...

Posted by Christ_empowered on June 16, 2011, at 10:43:33

I'm wondering if I should have done this. I had this therapist several years ago who was mean to me, gave me an inaccurate diagnosis, and tried to play doctor. I called him once to get records, he made up some BS excuses. Then I had him served with a subpoena b/c one of my ex-shrinks was being investigated by the state medical board. I called again, told him if I didn't get my records I'd be taking action against him. He gave me my records.

I didn't bother reading most of my records. I saw the part where he called me "wide-eyed" and I'd had enough. That was months ago.

So I called again today, hoping to get him. He's out of the office today, so I left him a voice message. I said that the guy he called a wide-eyed, drug-addled schizophrenic is doing fine. I also called him a worthless, incompetent, mind-f*cker. I did tell him to have a good day, which I think sweetens it up a little bit.

What do you think? It was just so...cathartic.

I think you did what you felt was best for you and you feel better due to it so what's the harm? Phillipa

What is the 'but' about?

I imagine it feels weird reading what someone else has written accurately or wrongly. My social anxiety would kick in big time.

Can I give you a retroactive hug for enduring such mean-spiritedness? Sounds like he really needed to feel better than someone else.

Too bad you didn't reach him in person.

You o.k. today?

thanks for your post. What's sad is that the only reason he even bothered giving me my records, which legally he is supposed to provide, is because I first had him served with a subpoena. Suddenly, he saw me as less stupid than he thought.

I agree with you...he needed to feel better than somebody. The sad thing is my parents had to pay for that crap "treatment," and so did my insurance company.

It would have been better to reach him in person, but he already knows my phone number and probably wouldn't have answered. The last time I called I told him I'd call him back in a few days (about my records); he got my number off his caller ID and called me and left an obsequious message that annoyed the hell out of me. I mean, really? First, when I'm down and out he acts like a d-bag, then when I stand up to him he can't even keep his response to a simple "OK, you can have the records" ? How am I supposed to respect someone like that?

Ugh. I'm feeling OK today. Kinda wired, haven't been sleeping all that well. Did I mention I stopped the Abilify? I was feeling too tranquilized. I might take a small dose (7.5-15mgs) today. 30mgs has proven to be entirely too much.

Thanks again.

Good idea about the abilify imo, to be proactive. Even righteous indignation can fray a sensitive person's nerves.

Take very good care, CE.

And three cheers for calling a jerk a jerk!

CE if you stopped the abilify are you becoming manic? I suggest you get back on a med that works for you. Your mental health comes first and I care. Phillipa

I think I owe you a high five.

There. Those people deserve to be put in their place. Bravo, CE! =]
