Don't

If this is a cry for help, its something that whether you think your doctor (and I wouldn't name doctors online, but that's your sense of security) is someone you don't want to deal with any more, should know.

I have thought of suicide at times but I'm afraid of death -- its really more to escape your problems than anything else, a fear of living.

I live in the past at times, regretting decisions in my life, thinking that I wouldn't be where I was now, but I know that although I can have contentious conversations with my psychiatrist, there's always something to get out of life.

I was surprised to hear that some psychiatry has a laissez-faire view when things are beyond control to the point of immense pain, but that is a rare view and a very rare place to be and there are many things to gather from life and one has to think also of your caretakers and friends and how it impacts them.

Please don't take that above sentence as verbatim -- there is much for life.

If you are in a serious situation, irregardless of insurance or anything else, a hospital evaluation (not necessarily a stay, hospitals really are not a place to be for long times unless its necessary -- being among familiar faces and familiar voices is far better.) is in order.

Your thoughts and feelings are absolutely real. You have your own reasons for why you think death is the answer for ending your suffering. However - and as hard as this may be to understand - these thoughts and feelings you have now are tremendously influenced and colored by the mentally ill state you now suffer from.

Please believe that periodic worsenings of the ill state will occur until you find an effective treatment. These episodic worsenings usually do pass, however. Please be patient.

Maybe your story is more one of tolerance. Even if there is no worsening of your brain function, you can still have episodic psychological intolerance to the frustration and pain in which you feel helpless, hopeless, and doomed. However, this usually passes too.

The deal is this: You wouldn't want to make decisions while in the altered state of consciousness that is substance abuse intoxication. Likewise, you should try to avoid making decisions while in the altered state of depression or some other mental illness. Once this difficult time passes, things will make more sense, and you will recover your energies to fight again.

I am sorry that your need to fight continues. If you keep trying different treatments, your odds of finding relief grow. In the meantime, I hope you feel better and find some respite from such an ardent struggle.

Hi, kattwoman. You sound like you're in a lot of pain.

What happened? there are a lot of caring people here. Maybe just telling us what happened and why you think you're going to die will help a little.

Many of us here have been through extremely hard times, and maybe someone will be able to offer help with whatever you're going through. I know we would want to.

We all know you're suffering, Jeroen, but that's a blanket statement, a generalization of all doctors of medicine.

Most of the disorders that people suffer with on here are biologically generated -- so the "genetic disease" really is redundant or doesnt hold water, personally.

No, the world is not out to get you and suffer, this may be the paranoia talking, I'm not trying to be ad-hominem -- as I've said before, its hard to evaluate yourself when you haven't taken a medication long enough to stabilize SOME of what you are suffering from.

It is not realistic to think that everything will change and not live in the present and carry on with life instead of waiting for it to catch up -- maybe I'm projecting because that is what is frustrating and scaring me about my life.
