EMSAM and urinary retention

Does anyone else experience urinary retention with EMSAM, and has anyone found a supplement or something else that helps?

If you are male perhaps you could try saw palmetto and all those prostate herbs and things.

I've no idea though why Emsam causes urinary retention.

Nardil does too, doesn't it?

Has this improved for you? I get urinary retention with a lot of the meds, especially the SNRIs (Effexor, Cymbalta). I don't have it with Lamictal (no side-effects at all in fact) but am looking for a boost and considering Emsam. Urinary retention concerns me -- what's your dose? Meds that might counteract your side-effect include Flomax and Urecholine, which is older and available in generic.

I have begun removing the patch while I sleep at night and to my surprise it seems to be even more effective than wearing it 24/7. This has also resulted in a reduction of the retention to a point near normalcy.
I am on the 12mg/24h patch (40mg)

Good to hear it's improved for you. I just may try it out. I read that dietary restrictions still apply above 6 mg. Maybe I'd start with the 6 and see how that goes.

What effect does it have on you, BTW?
