What doseage of klonopin and xanax is the same as 10mg of valium? I am getting a root canal and rather than pay for valium for the procedure I'd rather use the xanax or klonopin I already have. Thanks, Tiss

this will show you all the benzo equivalents. And they are comparing valium at 10mg

BTW - .5mg klonapon is equivalent to 10mg valium

Any idea if those equivalences are from a single dose or at steady-state from daily dosing?

I know Valium is a muscle relaxant and by extension a pain releiver, but do Klonopin and Xanax share these properties? I have not heard this before.

i'm not sure, sorry. i would guess its a mix of both though. ie. i would say that 1mg of klonopin is closer to 10mg of valium when compared to a one time dose. But this is a guess, from past experience.

you would be using the vailuwm/klonopin in addition to being frozen??? i have heard of people not using freezing when they get filligs, but for a root canal, Yikes!

What do you mean by being frozen? They use a 'cocktail' of 10 mg of valium, nitrous gas and give you the shots in your mouth. A root canal is no fun at all-I've had them before and my dr. makes people as comfortable as possible. Also, it is abcessing, yuk!

COOL! that is way more than i got. i got yucky shots in the mouth and that was it. in that case i don't think it makes a difference what drug you take, klonopin or xanax should do the trick.
good luck with the root canal
