Posted by dubious on December 3, 2003, at 16:26:00

i suffer from severe anxiety, chronic headaches and depersonalization. Im currently on wellbutrin, effexor and topamax. Although Im not schizophrenic, my doctor would like me to try a drug called ABILIFY.

Anyone out there heard of this or tried it?

If you take Wellbutrin with Abilify you must reduce the standard dosage of Abilify by at least 50%.

Abilify is metabolized by the CYP2D6 Enzyme. Wellbutrin is a strong inhibitor of CYP2D6. All this info is in the package inserts for these drugs.

The package insert (label) for Abilify explicitly states that if you take Abilify with a CYPTD6 inhibitor you should reduce your dosage of Abilify by at least 50%.

Can you explain a little better?! I take 300 Wb SR and 3.75 Abilify.

Does this mean the effects of one of the 2 or both are stronger?
