Is RISPERDAL used for BPII?

Posted by SoS on December 29, 2001, at 0:11:08

My Pdoc put me on it along with wellbutrin in addition to the paxil and depakote ER I was already on to help me lose weight. Any feedback would be appreciated.

(BTW, I was previously known as MM on psycho-babble, but due to a comp virus, I haven't been able to post for a while)

Sure, it is effective for Bipolar II. Now you have 3-fold treatment for your bipolar
1) Wellbutrin which is the AD less likely to cause mania
2) Depakote - very effective for bipolar II
3) Risperdal - A Good option too to augment the depakote
