Jereon we suspected infection might be playing a role in your case. I still think so. Your pattern of slow recovery is typical. It is normal. All 3 of the lyme practitioners that have treated me agreed that healing takes time....often months and sometimes years.
As psychosis has subsided somewhat, that is evidence you are on the right path. My own craziness took 3 years to disappear! You are only at a few months. You are doing good. My case was unusually bad.
The depression is most likely the die-off toxicity. And yeah, I can relate to that, it is a deep dark crippling depression. It is my belief that many suicides have at their fault the toxicity of infection or the toxicity of the die-off of infection, and that whatever psychological thing blamed on the suicide was not the actual cause - molehills look like insurmountable mountains in depression. The depression from infection and die-off is that bad, bad enough to create suicides.
So you need some ways to manage it and stay in the game of healing. Die-off is sometimes so bad it scares patients away, they give up, their symptoms return, and they lose all the gains they made. We want to hang onto your progress.
I have no idea if you can get capsules of activated charcoal? Bentonite clay? If so, you could take those at night and they absorb the toxicity in the gut from the die-off before it gets recirculated from the colon. Another similar strategy is to do whatever you can to speed up the bowels and stay cleaned out. Bare minimum - drink more water than you want to. Hydrate. Give the body plenty of fluid to wash out the death and debris caused by Doxy.
Diet can help. I have no idea what food choices you get. But if you can focus mainly on veggies and fruits of all colors, with smaller portions of meat for protein, that can help. Gluten-free definitely helps.
I have no idea if you can get other supplements besides meds. If you can, extra Vitamin C would be good, as much as you can take without getting diarrhea.
If you are only able to take one antibiotic then you are going to need a cyst buster. That is, a substance that breaks up the defensive film around colonies of bacteria, or a substance that targets a morphed form of bacteria. Doxy will cause the bacteria to morph into a different form where Doxy no longer impacts them. Sort of like how caterpillars turn into butterflies. The same organism can morph into something different.
The best I know of is Grapefruit Seed Extract. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-yeast, anti-viral, anti-inflammation, anti-toxicity, pro-cyst buster, pro-immune system.
But there are so many good herbs. I just don't know if you have access to any. I have never done the research, but I wonder if one could chew or eat grapefruit seeds? Hmm. I'll have to check into that.
I pray that God shall lift you up, strengthen you, and bring things into your life for healing.
