I got no complaints about individuals and companies trying to invent sleep apnea therapies that are easier to tolerate than CPAP therapy. The give up percentage on CPAP therapy is huge and thats bad.

Untreated sleep apnea can cause and/or exacerbate both depression and anxiety.

That being said, the gold standard for sleep apnea is properly titrated CPAP therapy, with the right kind of mask. There are no other truly proven therapies for sleep apnea, even though there are some FDA approved non CPAP therapies but they are mainly for mild apnea and dont have the effectiveness reputation that CPAP has.

Other "proven ways" to treat sleep apnea is weight loss if you are obese, sometimes works other times does not work...usually it works partially. Such as lowers your pressures some but you will still need CPAP.

The other "proven way" to treat sleep apnea is to avoid muscle relaxing, sedating drugs. Booze is the big one but benzos are another as are anti-histamines for allergies and muscle relaxant medications. Any drug or substance that relaxes the muscles of the throat and chest wall area around the lungs can worsen apnea.
