Taking say 20g of Prozac a day for say 1-2 weeks can ease the withdrawal effects from Effexor, yes

Prozac has a half life of about 9 days, so when you stop it, it self tapers

It can also be very helpful to have a few tablets of a benzo prescribed (say 10 tabs of Valium) so you can take one if any symptoms become distressing
