I just did some research on TCAs for ADHD and it said that there is a risk of cardiac toxicity in children with desipramine. This would probably apply to adults as well. Maybe nortriptyline is just better tolerated, or maybe its more effective. When I look at what the drug does its sort of like an NRI with some of the properties of an atypical antipsychotic, except the main dopamine blocking part. How was your experience with nortriptyline?
