((((Ed))))
I'm sorry that you are up against such an anal retentive, ultra-conservative mental health care system :-( Hard to have faith in a system that considers SSRIs the be all and end all in treatment options! I don't blame you for not wanting to go back on a SSRI or Effexor. Can you call around to see if there are one or more private pdocs who are more progressive, and, if so, see if there any way you can get in to see one ASAP, at least for a consult and prescribing purposes? Also, when was the last time you had a full physical? You might also want to see your gp and have your blood checked to make sure there is nothing physically wrong. Finally, I know you will probably not want to do this, but, in the past, I always found that Sudafed gave me an abundance of energy (even more than I already had at that time). You could always try some sudafed or Dexedrine diet pills, if you are desperate for some much needed energy. And, finally, have you had a chance to try L-Tyrosine yet? It really does have an energizing effect, at least the times I have tried it (even at a low dose of 250mg).
Take care Ed. My thoughts are with you.
All the best,
Tamara

I'm not going back on an SSRI or Effexor like my doctor suggests- these meds make me sleep even longer. I want to try an MAOI but I live in the UK so it would be VERY difficult to get a prescription. Here, if you don't respond to Effexor you're f*cked. Also, you can't get stims here unless you're a child and a total sh*t. I HATE this country.
