Which Is Better For Depression Effexor or Zoloft

Saw my doctor today and have been diagnosed with mild depression. He is starting me on 25mg of Zoloft daily for three days and then increase it to 50mg daily. My question is, I read many good things and also bad things about Zoloft. Is there anyone out there that has had bad side effects from either Zoloft or Effexor XR?
