Hi All,
This post caught my eye. I'm titrating up on Lamictal. Over the last few weeks, and worsening in the last week in particular, I've had bad muscle tension in the muscles in my upper shoulders, upper chest, and a little in my neck. The shoulders are by far the worst. I tend to carry tension in my shoulders, but this is into a whole new level of tension, sometimes to the point of pain. I have also noticed some pain in the tips of a couple of fingers, in my hand itself a bit, and a little wrist and lower arm pain, all of which has coincided with the very tense shoulders. I think there's an unhappy nerve in there. The hand symptoms aren't constant or severe, but I'm keeping alert. My pdoc doesn't know if the tense muscles are med related or not and she suggested a neurologist to consult. I've also had headaches, which are expected for what I'm on. BTW, I was tested for antinuclear antibodies in Oct as a precaution - it was fine.
Here's my mix, still evolving:
Lamictal, 67.5 mg (now dropping a tad)
Celexa 2 mg
Neurontin 600 mg
Klonopin varying 0 - 1.5 mg depending on the day.
atenolol 25 mgI've been titrating up on Lamictal, so *if* my symptoms are med related, I tend to blame it. Other than the physical discomfort, I'm so pleased with what Lamictal is doing for my mood. It's the best response I've had from anything in a long time. I have been able to experience actual pleasure, a real emotional response to art, music, animals, etc. I want to keep this drug if I can get my body to feel better.
Anyway, has anyone experienced muscle tightness problems on on Lamictal?
Sorry about the long post, and thanks.
Emme
