strange new year

Posted by rjlockhart37 on January 2, 2020, at 19:02:58

i ordered all these christmas packages for ym family members for christmas, i knew exactly the address i put on, when it was being shipped on line. I had that exact address, and it was changed to a 7 instead of a 1, at the last number, It was shipped to another house, and i can't get my money back, i literally drove to that house on new years day, at 6pm they were not there, but one package was on their door step. It was one of them. 2nd I ordered things like hair tonic, and other christmas gifts, to my mailing address. That was not sent, i called the post office, they said something must of been error, but it was delivered stamped time frame...on tracking delivered to address at 10:01 am. There was no package, then again with something else. Not arriving, i wasted 300 dollars this christmas on gifts that i don't know if it's a coincidence this happened, i typed it the exact address of their address, then i checked it again and it was altered or put as another address

Like some kinda jinx game.for all this to happen. Spent new years eve, alone. The guy in the post office, told him everything happened, told me that this is a jinx. Tt's a term. Look up the word, and see the meaning. Don't know how much ill regret writing this, but i had write it down

Anyways, im logging off

I'm sorry that happened to you, RJ.

Those online forms automatically change my address, sometimes (from 1 to 5), and sometimes don't register anything at all. E.g., I can't get newspaper delivery to here. It says 1 on the door. Utilities are connected to 5.

NZ Post has this metro supermarket delivery thing. I got a book from book depository no troubles. Then I tried to get a book from Blackwells UK, never arrived. Re-ordered from Blackwells UK, never arrived. Reordered from Book depository, never arrived.

Arranged for shipping to my sisters home address, never arrived.

Reordered for shipping to my sisters work address -- then the one to her home address turned up (several weeks late).

Each time they offered to reimbuse the value of the purchase, though, so I am surprised that this did not happen for you.

In my case I think NZ postal system is simply shipping them back, again. I went in to the supermarket and the person on the desk was like 'oh yeah we phone people if there is a phone number on the package otherwise we return them to sender after some time'.

The online website said they would email you when your package arrived. Which was what happened the first time I ordered a book.

So...

Even the postal system doesn't work for me.

Not until I arranged for shipping to my sisters place of work (a reputable legal firm).

ffs.

I don't know what the world is coming to RJ...

The holiday period sucks for me. If I had a motorcycle I would be riding about the country... I suppose I could have arranged / organised for one, but I'm waiting to see what happens / how things turn out because... Well... Because I'm enjoying a new bicycle that I got and I will neglect it if I get a motorcycle before getting properly used to it. My sit bones will take a while...

I've been watching a lot of Twich ''Escape from Tarkov'' Streaming... It's a very civilised thing they have got going on over there, for the holiday period, with basically 24/7 streaming of a very technical game that people are playing individually and in teams and so on and so forth. Streamers hanging out if you are into that. I reccommend CohhCarnage for his 'happy helpful respectful' community -- and he has been introducing other streamers who have grown on me, rather. Itmejp and ezeikiel III (dropped frames ain't bad if you want to keep up with tech-y gossip / new games) and the streamers he's been playing with lately...

I actually enjoy watching other people play games more than I enjoy playing them, mostly. I tend to get stuck / side-tracked from progressing things properly and lose interest in games because of that. Great to see the story properly unfolding on bioshock and the like...

Anyway, it helps me feel less alone. To hang out with someone who is mostly upbeat and happy about things and plenty smart and... Human. Someone who helps me feel human.

I am really surprised they didn't offer to reimburse you for the delivery that didn't. Because now they will have lost you as a customer :(

Sigh.

Apparently (from the website) the issue seems to be that the metro delivery is only for things shipped by NZ post. Not by other courier... Companies. I guess they are other courier companies.

Book depository doesn't offer shipping *options* and who knows which courier company they pick for their delivery but I guess it isn't NZ post.

And so NZ post doesn't get paid to deliver it (doesn't get paid to email me to let me know it's arrived) so unless the person in the supermarket chooses to phone about the package (which I don't suppose she is required to do) they just ship them back to where they came.

All of this is totally non-obvious.

They do say something (I realised later) about the 'NZ COllection 5575757' that is supposed to be in the first line of the address (I changed the number). So it is supposed to be that online forms won't let you put a number in the first line of the address. So the fact that you can't put the number into the online order form is supposed to tell you that the item will not be delivered to you. Or not to you at that address, anyway.

Yeah.

yeah your right, there are errors that happen, i read all your post, but it's just series of mis events with mailing christmas and just peronal needs, they were all shipped and disappeared, or it could of just been me, but i bought these gifts and i know i put in the exact address, and then it last number was moved to a 7 intead of 1 on the address, i revcovered 1 gift, the rest are back i have no idea where they are.

Then 3 other things were supposed to be mailed to me, they said they delivered, they had a time stamp and there was nothing there, littlery 3 items never showed up in box, and the mailing add having to buy another one which was the economical price gift. I went to the post office, they said there was error, and that it should been delivered to the box, 3 items, just disappeared. The post office, like i've been jinx, someone playing around or superstition description

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I ended up recieving 2 copies of one of the books that I ordered.

My sister was like 'just pretend you never recived it' but I felt bad so I asked them how I could ship it back and the company that shipped it to me said that I could (on this occasion) keep it. That was a huge relief for me, because it was rather a heavy book, and it cost me around $50 to send significantly lighter documents to the Queen so I was a bit afraid of how much it was going to cost me...

So, then I thought to donate it to the library. So I did that. And the librarian was actually super-nice about it. Like, really genuinely happy to get it. And I suggested they buy a companion volume from Book Depository (that was the donor really) and they agreed and so...

And so I guess I feel just a little teeny bit nice that I contributed towards something nice in this world.

Which is just a tiny small relief against this background of awful that is the injustice of the Universities of New Zealand refusing to process Degree completions and applications and the like.
