Hi! I remember last year we discussed The Exorcist :)

10 Cloverfield Lane is great. Did you enjoy Cloverfield? I really did, but my family was not enthused.

Did you see Hereditary? Ah, and It Follows?

I remember saying that after seeing it recently, what impressed me most was Jason Miller's performance as Father Karras. I thought Miller looked like a man who knew depression well.

I didn't like Cloverfield as much as 10 Cloverfield Lane. I haven't seen The Cloverfield Paradox.

> Did you see Hereditary? Ah, and It Follows?

I haven't seen those three.

Some interesting movies have been coming out of Iran lately. A Separation (not a horror film) is really good. It's on Netflix. Under the Shadow is also on Netflix.

So far it's Carrie and Midsommer. There is a trailer out for Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro. Don't know exactly what you like in a film....

My kid used to be afraid of the Wendigo :) he inflicted it upon himself reading this series of scary stories....

I hadn't heard of Antlers. We'll have to wait until April for its release. I see that Jesse Plemons is in it. He was good in Breaking Bad. Also in USS Callister on Black Mirror. If you're a Breaking Bad fan, you should watch El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. It was released a few weeks ago on Netflix.

Breaking Bad got really heavy, and I bailed. Lets say it was that good :D. Which character did he play? I could try the movie and see if I can emotionally tolerate restarting the series.

The same for Black Mirror. I forget which episode triggered a panic attack ( a real one) which bemused my sympathetic family. Let me see how if I can remember the sci-fi show comprised of 20 min shorts....

Btw, have you seen Alienation?

the real dark movies i don't like to watch on Halloween, lik the moth-man prophecies, just really dark and like the babadok, just those really eerie uncomfortable, want to turn it off feeling.

I like classic Halloween movies like dracula

The Babadok was really scary but also very sad. The Moth-man frightened my son. He watched something about it on Animal Planet and had to sleep with a light on.

i saw the mothman phrohacies when it came out in 2002, just the movie is errie, its not scary, but just givees this ... errie dread feeling. The mothman acutallly...it was a true event, it happened i think in 1966 somwherere in the 60s and people reported seeing a figure in the sky at night with red eyes, it looked like a bat or moth, and ... there's tons of research on it, but it happened in point pleasant, went virginia, people were very frightened by it. This site says people in chicago report at times seeing the mothman.

Jesse Plemons was in the final two seasons of Breaking Bad. He played Todd, the friendly murderous psychopath. If you haven't watched all of Breaking Bad, "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie" wouldn't make a lot of sense.

I find Black Mirror to be wildly uneven. Some episodes are wonderful and some are unwatchable. Jesse Plemons is in one of the better episodes, USS Callister, where he plays a psychopathic computer geek. Nosedive, Arkangel, and Hang the DJ are some other episodes I've liked.

Midsommer won out. Directed by the fellow who directed Herditary. A few times I had flashbacks to some bad 70's commune moments :)

I'd recommend it.

Some of these are unfamiliar. A few favorites are on it. Jacob's Ladder I don't think I'd watch again. Gutting.

Thank you!

On second thought, I couldn't watch many of the films on this list. Too gruesome or nightmare fueling.

the joker was intense, i wnet to see it thinking it would be a spin off of other jokers in the past, this one is the most insane, espically seeing on a XD screen. There's not horror in it, but he slowly has misfortunes happen to him in gotham city, and he figured out a conspiracy about his mother doing bad things to him when young. And then it scenes really got insane, in the mind of person who was miunderstood and treated badly, and turned into a psychopath, just like the joker in the all the comic books and his insane cruel torments he does to people

Have I suggested Beneath the Skin? More arthouse. I've seen it a few times. Excellent soundscapes.
