I have come down with quite the cold since Friday. I wanted to take Andrographis but I hear it can damage the blood-brain barrier. Any tipps?

Most things I've read, and doctors I've seen, say none of these OTC cold meds do anything for the cold. Just wait it out.

I am so depressed because of this stupid cold! My guard was down because I did a course of antibiotics.

not sure if this is best suggestion. American ginseng is good for illness, i was reading about diffrent types of ginseng, there's asian ginseng which is more stimulating and energizing. Then there's american ginseng which is more calming but it gives you energy levels and improves memory, but they ... i read that they use it to treat low immune systems, ill have to research it again
but just my little suggestion is maybe try american ginseng, i've taken it because of low unstable energy levels, so i can at least think and work on projects online

they use, it's a herbal remedy for colds, and some sickness, and it also helps with low energy levels. Asian ginseng is more stimulating....it also can cause anxiety. Look up american ginseng, it's good for colds and sickness. Just wanted to let be known

Well, I guess you only hear about things that they can make money with. I don't buy it, that there is nothing to be done against the cold! What about Garlic?
Ginseng has interactions with my meds I think!

Maybe vitamen C? the US they have a tea called Theraflu - it has a mix of drugs that are suppost to suppress cought and pain and conjestian. Maybe could go store, or pharmacy and look for a herbal tea remedy for colds

Good for everything really.
What is hydrocyanic acid anyway? Doesn't sound good.

I am not a fan of addictive substances. It hurts me to watch people take benzos, stimulants or opiates for anything but emergencies. My father is still sick. I got it from him. These pathogens that we caught are very stubborn. I am not 100% recovered either. I wish i could do some sports

ibuprofen or acetaminophen, there over the counter fever reducers, also for pain
a crude way to reduce fever is to have a ice foot bath, get ice and water and submerge your feet in it. It reduces temperature slightly, but it is uncomfortable....and have to prep yourself before doing it

Upper respiratory problems + fever = flu or bronchitis. Worst case, pneumonia, though usually would have much higher fever (like 103+).

Hey, I was at the doctors and she measured that I don't have fever. I didn't know how to use the thermometer correctly. My father infected me and he had a swab. So today we will find out what we have. I still have a slightly sore throat. I wonder if i can do some cardio today

You mean aside from the standard advice of helping our your immune system as best you can by staying hydrated and resting up?
Do you get labs back that tell you what you likely had? Fancy...

So I still have symptoms especially in the throat and I need to be careful with sports. I did 15 minutes of cardio yesterday and felt a bit funny afterward. Slight headache

I forgot about essential oils.
Ylang ylang was my favorite.
But tea tree oil and eukalyptis for a stuffy nose.
And lavender to help soothe to sleep.

I ordered garlic essential oil and plan to inhale that. And I take Andrographis orally. It should be a virus killer combination! I have an appointment with the cardiologist on Monday. The pharmacist recommended seeing one. My weakness might be heart inflammation.

my grandmother....she had a steam machine, i think they still have them today, and she used vicks vapor or menthol and you breathe it in. They still have it today, but it's not really for the flu, mainly for congestion and breathing issues. I think they still have them today. You may want to check out menthol or ... it's for congestion while your sick, clearing up bronchitis
