I thought things with tomato guy and me were going well.
We went out a second time. We saw a movie, had coffee and just talked outside.
At the end of the night I gave him a quick hug.
Today at work he avoided me. We sat in silence for about 5 mins before he excused himself and hid at his desk. Before that he actually switched seats to avoid eye contact with me.
I think the hug was too much.
Maybe he doesn't like me.
What should I do?
Doesn't he think of how rejected I feel?

What you did is not inappropriate. A hug after the second time sounds not too fast to me.
I dunno at all, but I just wondered if he feels some shame that it was you who made the move and not him?
Which is why, I guess, women forever have fluttered their eyes and stuff like that.
No more moves for the moment, anyway.

Yes, PJ, I am shy and reserved with some people, but not always.
People round here hug all the time.
They stand around on the footpath hugging and hugging.
I feel like saying 'Just stop it'.

Don`t take things to heart so quickly,some guys just want to start of by being friends.Are you sure he was trying to avoid you?,or was you hoping that after the 2nd date for a better responce.If you have his phone number I would phone him and ask if you have upset or offended him in any way.Don`t let him just slip away, but at the same time don`t throw yourself at him,just try and get a conversation going,trying to add a little laughter,and how good the film was or something like that, but try to arrange another date.After all,all you did was hug him as a thank you.
