Do You Find People Not Using The internet As Much?

Posted by Phillipa on September 29, 2007, at 11:56:29

Funny when the internet came out they said it would not be good for maintaining real life relationships and I'm noticing that not as many people are using the internet if not on it at work . Anyone one else think its true? Phillipa

Not at all. I think it's just being more integrated into our lives. My son's homework now often involves the internet. And he does it more willingly and often does extra study when it does.

When was the last time you went to the library to look something up in the encyclopedia? My brother's baby was born with a problem, and by the time I visited him in the hospital, I knew as much as the doctors had told my brother and was able to talk about options reasonably and calmly with him. I've been looking up recipes online instead of buying cookbooks. And I just sent my husband a link on how to order me a Bakewell pudding.

It's just part of our lives now. I don't think we think about it.

I haven't noticed that. But maybe it's because I'm young and maybe it happens more with older people.

But I couldn't imagine life without the internet.

when did they first say this? 1992 or something....i mean i think people started having "internet" in your home around 1995, i mean the "general" population. When did people start getting on the internet and chatting.....1995? i think that is.

1997 is when the internet i think was a part of society.
