Who watches Grey's Anatomy?

Grey's Anatomy is back. I love that show. And I really like Izzy and Meredith. Love Phillipa

I watched it because there is an internal server here where people put up movies and whole seasons of shows. Greys anatomy and House are about the only compelete seasons so I've seen both of those...

I like George :-)

Meredith pisses me off more than anything else...

But I watched it, yeah.

I like George too but why does Meridith make you angry? Because she was having an affair with a married man who she didn't know was married when it started. I hate the guy's wife. Love Phillipa

Merideth is kind of annoying to me, but I like it when she and McDreamy have chemistry.

Christina cracks me up too. She's so... Type A...

I love Grey's anatomy!! We watched the premiere, but apparently the station we got it on premeiered the second episode instead of the first. NOTHING made any sense. I won't give away what happens next week, but can somebody tell me if Meredith and McDreamy slept together in the first episode??

The first part was a recap of last year. We recorded it so we're watching it in bits and pieces. I know they slept together before the show went off last year. In an exam room. And MC Deemies wife found Merediths underpants. Love Phillipa ps did you get the e-mail I sent you today?

Hi Gee,

The premier started the "Day after" the prom, which was the season finale.

There was a case of the bubonic plague (DerekMcDreamie was held in quarantine in the hospital all day long- remember-- he and Mer. had boinked the night before!)

Somehow McD's wife found the panties (my guess is that she took Derek's tux jacket home, since he was working at the hospital last night)

Tangent: What kind of guy holds onto panties?!?! Is that disturbing to anybody else? (I surveyed- apparently the panty conquest stealing thing is pretty common. a badge of manliness...hmm)

Izzy and her house-mates are sitting Shiva for Danny (her fiance, who tragically died shortly after proposing)

Chris O'Donnell (the Vet) said that she was great, but that Derek was not great for her, that Derek was the wrong choice, but that it was up to her. He was not mean, but kind, but firm, and then left.

Meredith was in her kitchen at home, and McDreamy came in and said- I love you. And asked her to decide if she could be with him. And to take her time deciding (he was sooooo sweeeeeeet!!!!)

pretty good episode, but nothing "MIND-blowing..." the chemistry was kind of "off" between the characters, somehow. And the acting was a little rough around the edges, with the exception of Izzy & the Chief, who seem to be maturing a lot into their roles.

Meredith and Derek slept together the first time, very first episode, when she picked him up in a bar and took him home with her. she had no idea, til the next day, that she was going to be working for him......they were together for awhile and then McAwfulWife showed up......and then they did it again during the prom....i think that Derek picked her panties up because the orthopod doc caught them and he put them in his pocket.......I LOVE THE SHOW!

Yes that's right. Remember now. And Izzy killed Denny. She cut the connection to the artificle heart thinking a new heart was there. Hence sitting Shiva. And what's the Oriental girl's name? She's back in bed with her lover who got hurt. And the docs all need antibiotics for the plague. And the doc who had an affiar with Meridiths mother's wife just gave me an option either quit medicine, retire, or that's it. Love Phillipa ps maybe we can write scrips for the show

Sorry, no can do. Don't like McDreamy-- is that his name??? or are you guys fooling around.

Gosh, I wish I liked that show. I really do.

but I just don't, somehow.

I mean come on-- do I really want to go to a hospital full of amazingly gorgeous, hot, in-love-with-themselves-and-one-another docs, having sex around the corner all the time?

No. No, I don't.

I want my docs to be serious, and grave, and a little plump or a little gaunt and grizzled, and weatherbeaten, and slightly the worse for wear. Please.

It's bad enough to be sick, without all that gorgeousness going on around you.

Yah,
they are all too-too gorgeous and in love with themselves. The medical science comes up short 90% of the time. And it's all perfectly silly- who has beautiful hair and makeup after working a 30 hour shift- still with time and energy for a hot date and some frisky doctor-on-doctor action?

Half the time, I'm laughing AT them. the rest of the time I'm laughing at MYSELF, for being sucked into their melodrama and actually allowing myself to feel some kind of (compassion?!?) for their pathetic little lives.

But there are a lot of comical moments too. I think that's why I like Christina's character so much (sandra oh). Because she's SO over the top, and yet underneath her crust of invincible ambition is this vulnerable person who wants to be loved for it all!

Yep. Thats right.

Yep. Thats right too. I guess generally speaking I don't allow myself to get sucked in... It was just that I was sick and someone loaned me all episodes thus far... Sigh. Yeah I got sucked in too. Sigh.

> I think that's why I like Christina's character so much (sandra oh). Because she's SO over the top, and yet underneath her crust of invincible ambition is this vulnerable person who wants to be loved for it all!

Yeah, shes pretty okay. George is pretty okay too. I don't think they are very credible characters though. I guess you notice it more when you watch show after show after show in one hit. Christina's boyfriend... Can't remember his name... Has this most appalling continuity of character. He starts out being all driven then goes all nice and mushy and sensitive all of a sudden.

Gak! Am not going to get sucked into another season...

Or, I could watch House- it's on on Tuesdays. I like it because it's kind of nerdy. And the humor is really quite appallingly politically incorrect.

Plus, you never know what you're going to learn about some disgusting parasite or rare contagious plague. I bet the next patient will be on the deathbed and she'll be diagnosed with systemic complications of gingivitis.

-lol

I love entertaining me.

yeah. i love his sense of humour :-)

similar issues with some of the character development (of his students) but thats what comes of watching all the seasons over the course of a day or two...

but yeah i love his sense of humour :-)

i have a friend who is a doc and he said he loves to watch the show and try and figure 'what is the most unlikely thing you are ever likely to see with those symptoms?' he said he would get them sometimes lol. i guess some of the more exotic conditions show up on all the medical shows. i liked the one where the lady had worms and they figured there was a worm in her brain because they found one in her leg :-)

but i think some of the medicine is pretty dodgey... at least... i've worried about their neurology at times...

Well, they clearly know very little about MRI's, because they walk into the room with the scanner and their white lab coats are full of pens... lol

I saw an MRI safety video once where a small wrench was gently tossed across the room, and ended up being sucked into the bore of the magnet, punching a hole through half-inch plywood on it's way :)

I bet a pen would do a bit of damage, huh?

I also love it when they do a lab test and get the results back before the next commercial break lol

That's an interesting concept-- making the audience wait FOREVER for lab results...

like several weeks-- so as to simulate the crescendo of stress one experiences in real life.

You can fill up the onscreen time with worried relatives asking one another, have they called yet? Have you heard anything yet? And obsessing about what's wrong.

And then people can start cursing out the doctors, and the lab, and then branching out to how bad traffic is in the city, and how the buses never come...

and well, after all that, the lab results still won't be ready.

Yup, that sounds like a winner.
