And I laughed a ton at that line, too!

Actually (sorry to be literal here) the syrups do come in flavours. I was thinking 'I'm sure something was orange...' and now I remember: chlorpromazine / largactal syrup is orange flavoured (yeech).

Vanilla, though - yum. Coffee would be good too :-)

Jai,

I hate it when I wake up hungover and realize I made phone calls or placed posts I shouldn't.

I was just getting silly last night. After a year of drainflies, three plumbers, and an excavator, my plumbing was finally fixed yesterday. I "celebrated" the final closing of the crawlspace by getting drunk. Ugh.

Just ignore any posts that don't make sense. I half expect to be blocked.

i'll try again....ahem...now, where was I? oh yes, that 'librarian' movie you started this thread with...is that a movie i can find on regular tv or do i have to go out and rent it? i remember reading about it right before you wrote your thread and it sounded good but now i'm not sure if it was in the tv guide or blockbuster. I could google it but it's more fun to hang out here and whine about being ignored (my favorite christmas activity...some people bake, i whine). thanks!

Followed by a riot of noise and table banging and barking like a dog sounds.

"What can I say, it's Christmas and we're all in misery."

Not a very uplifting nor humor filled line when just read as above, but d*mn funny in the movie - actually, tons of good lines in that movie.

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

P.S to Dr. Bob - tried the double quotes and they don't seem to work for this title.

Sorry, I misread the beginning of this thread--

Does this word have another meaning from the one I am used to?

Here it means 'pervert' as in 'sexual pervert' as in the staring and oggling kind...

Thats where we get 'have a perv' from.

Thats not what you guys are talking about, surely?!

I've been watching too much MTV - especially the Surreal Life. One of the characters often exclaims, "You Perv" in just about any situation - even to the guy handing her a towel at the nudist colony. (how can that be perverted?)

When I drink (which has been pretty steady since Halloween) all I do is fritter around on the computer and watch tv. I'm so isolated, the tv has become my social life and my language reflects it.

hi, alexandra, i'd be glad to help clear up this most important issue.:) in the U.S., being a 'perv' or 'pervert' basically means having a dirty mind, i believe. you know, thinking 'nasty' thoughts...

hope that helps.:)
