I think `f*ck*d off to a holiday in Hawaii' might be Australasian slang for being held in an off-shore detention facility for your crimes against humanity in a slightly face saving way.

At least, that's what I'm hoping because that's what happened to our John Key, for a while there.

New Zealand has a `volunteer' (aka not government funded) fire service as well - but not half the problem bush fires that Australia has, to be fair.

Apparently (from my first aid course) if you are ever in a situation and emergency response comes (haha), you better hope that first on scene is fire.

Ambulance won't move in until police have cleared the scene (too much stabby stabby for them prohibits) but fire is expected to be able to defend themselves via water pressure. I guess. And they are first aid trained. So...

The New Zealand Government didn't pay it's Secondary / High School teachers. Not so long ago.

I don't know what is up with these governments allegedly collecting high tax rates (but not from the rich) to be funding no government services.

We recently had a situation where a convention centre was likely intentionally set on fire so that insurance funds would ensure completion. Because the contract was won only by under-bidding such that... So overseas insurers are expected to foot the bill (good people will not do business with us for obvious reasons) and the volunteer fire service... Some of them ran themselves into serious injury because it turns out they were not lisenced to operate the `cherry picker' that the fire hoses are launched from... Just a f*ck*ng mess, all around...

They tried to blame the stupid junior apprentice they only took on as an apprentice because they thought he would appear suitably stupid in any court of law. Only, the engineers could attest to the fact that their blow-torch design was such that the blow-torch would blow-out, unless it was suitably attended, so I guess they can't blame it on the stupid apprentice, after all. Then it becomes about how much those foreign insurance companies want to sanction the corruption in New Zealand.

I recently learned the current Vice Chancellor of Waikato University (refusing to confer my Degree since I refused to pay them maximum fees which would involve my taking out extentions such that the world would think I was intellectually handicapped or was forced to pay for someone else to write my thesis for me) is also employed by the Tertiary Education Commission (who is billed for additional enrolment periods and additional rounds of examination) and also the reserve bank of New Zealand... Who chooses to invest in such crap, one can only suppose. The `low road' to growth and so on. I'm sure none of those jobs were publically advertised ha de ha ha ha. I read one of his (government paid for) reports where he basically asserts `because I have no reading comprehension the rules do not apply to me and I can do whatever I want'

I hope he gets his all expenses paid trip to Hawaii, really soon.

And I hope the Faculty at Auckland can follow the reasoning whereby they kind of sort of have to train me if they want their training system to mean anything... Anything... Anything at all. They want Doctors who are competent in perscriptions and procedures? Better train me! I can't believe the combination of ineptitute and corruption... But there it is. And there we go.

Someone... Everyone... TELL ME. When it starts to sort of kind of maybe sort of kind of proceed to the point where...

Where I need to take serious consideration of BALANCE OF POWER. Remind me. I think that is the problem half the time. People don't have the support structures that they need. Sometimes they actually do in fact have the power to summon / purchase them. But sometimes they FOREGET or they just don't KNOW. Or something... Something like that goes horribly wrong... Such that they need to take a little trip to Hawaii... I need for people to help make sure that I never need do that. Yeah.

The issue, too, is what they did (or often more to the point what they did not do) with the money that they had.

So.... By f*ck*ng over the climate for a number of years the Australian Economy did really really really really really really well.

I remember being in Canberra when the Australian dollar overtook the Canadian dollar. Things were going really really really really really really well.

What did they do with the money they got?

They brought a technicolor dreamcoat. I guess.

Sigh.

Which was a stupid f*ck*ng waste of money. They did not save it for the impending doom. They did not share it fairly amongst the brothers.

Jacob had dreams of how things were great for him... That had him worried...

Not his stupid father.

That had him worried...

But he had nobody to consult. And he couldn't consult his brothers because of the nature of the situation there was a mis-communication where his plea for help (to understand) was (inevitably given the situation) perceived as... Insufferable. Gloating. Shamlessness. And so on...

And Trump says 'we made a deal' and praised Australia for it's natural resources (which are something found and not earned).

And the pay-off was a little trip to Hawaii....

Recently in the paper... Korea...

It was announced that they would not trade the security of their people for anything, anything, anything at all...

We give away all our genetic data (particularly the genetic data of the most vulnerable in the name of equity no less) with no intention whatsover to action any remedial action (medication or surgery) and only with the intention to observe to an untimely demise.

Thats what medical care consists of, in New Zealand. 'Thank you very much for all your data' and 'awwwwwwwwwwww there is nothing (that I am trained to do) that can help you awwwwwwwwwwwwww'.

Because they gave away all that data...

They sold out their people.

Over and over and over and over...

Nobody will help their people because they won't even help their people. And so very many 'special trips to Hawaii' for them.

F*ck*ng psychopaths.

You know. They cut taxes for the better off. They said that, right? It's a very common theme. Back from when it was 'socialise the losses and privatise the profits'.

It is so humid, god knows what it will be like with another couple of degrees. The east coast has an awful climate.

I don't know where in Hawaii he was. Kleptocratic arsonists are an optimistic lot with different tastes, cricket on the beach, family values and whatnot.

That's why workers over the age of 53 in the US get the chop.

I'm unclear why they are so keen on their money. They will not live forever nor for as long as they think. The joys of being a caste apart, of being achievers, lifters not leaners, having a go to get a go, not the tragic view of life at all.

This is nicely done.

Eco-terrorism is a federal offense just in time for climate activism.

Will most people move to the coastal areas except for the south? The population would fit.

I thought the worst climate was your north-west coast? Very hot and impossibly humid year-round if I understand correctly.

The north coast of Western Australia is very dry, except in the rainy season.

The east coast gets more humid the further north you go.

South Australia is dry. Tasmania is cool. Pity about what's going to happen there because it is unique in Australia.

Inland can be better. Canberra has a nice climate.

Canberra was nice and dry, but fairly hot. If you tried to shuffle the air around (open a car window or start up a fan) it would just blow hot air around. You could feel the air sucking the moisture out of your eyeballs. I started to get sick in Canberra... And learned that people can't live off of Coca Cola. Seriously. You have to drink water. Actual water. To stay hydrated. Seriously.

Auckland is swampy. We have mosquitos at night. I think the sewers in the city collect sewerage in a sort of a sump fashion until the contractors water blast it along for treatment / disposal. So you get a build up of smell. NOt just when it rains. Just over time. You get a build up of smell from the sewers in the city. Something something about open pipes and the overflow is actually designed to run over into storm-water. So the smell of sewerage coming out the storm-water vents all about the city.

By the hospital. Which is charming (not).

Sigh.

Humidity is awful. When you get a layer of sweat / slime and it doesn't evaporate properly.

I am a very glandular person. Sucks. Best thing that ever happened for my glands was a massive dose of vitamin A. It felt to me like what I really really wanted was a less massive dose of vitamin A over a much much longer period of time... Only massive doses of vitamin A are teratogenic so they didn't want to give me large doses of vitamin A over longer periods of time...

But large doses of vitamin A shrunk my glands. So I produced less sweat. Which is not a bad thing when your sweat can't evaporate, in the climate, it just lies on your skin / in your glands blocking up all your pores and creating cysts...

I sweat more than most people, so far as I can tell. I'm kinda hairy too. I guess that's what all the glandular secretions are for, to keep my pelt shiny. Only I'm a girl so I methodically remove my pelt only to create blocked pores. Sigh.

Nasty climate.

Sigh.

Yes, it was nice and dry in Canberra (compared to swampier climates of Auckland and Australia and even NOrth Carolina) -- but you do gotta drink water.

I remember those perfect nights... Around 2 or 3 in the morning and the air would be the same temperature as blood... Or the same temperature as peripheral limbs... Or whatever... Just a perfect temperature so no thermoregulation was required. It felt like it. Just sitting in the perfect temperature.

I don't ever remember feeling so naturally happy in my climate / environment.

Wellington surprised me. A cool if moist climate can result in a lot of mould. I'm used to humidity being associated with heat.

Thats what the climate is like in the redwoods. Seasonally cool (not cold). Lots of mould. But the groves and mountains are drying up.

Is being a champion sweater connected to an inability to tolerate heat?

Ive been close to heatstroke a few times (in the southern Midwest.)

When the heat is combined with humidity. Without humidity you need to drink a lot of water, but it is not so uncomfortable (for me).

So we're alright here for now as far as fire is concerned.

It puzzles me that temperatures in Victoria should now be around 45C in parts. Maybe the hot dry air from the centre flows down there?

Where are redwoods? Northern California? I don't know why I am thinking Oregon? I don't even know where Oregon is...

I think my being glandular might be more likely to make me relatively heat tolerant and cold intolerant. I suppose that is correct. I complain about the cold more than most people do. I complain about the heat about as much as most people -- but I tend to over-dress more than most people because I am self conscious about being hairy.

It's a silly sort of self conscious. I'm not hursit. I probably would be really hairy if I was a guy, though. I think I was maybe 5 and some kid pointed out that my arms were really hairy (and theirs were hairless) and then I got self conscious about it and never wore short sleeves again for the next... Few decades. Or similar...

I just mean that the heat knocked me in Canberra similarly to everyone else but they were in short shorts or short skirts and tank tops while I was in jeans and t-shirts or layers of gym gear.

I actually quite liked the Dunedin climate. If I had a house with a heat pump then I didn't mind that climate at all.

It is hard to compare to 'sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny' Canberra, though. And, again, those summer nights where the air temperature is just perfect.

But it would get so hot during the day that you would get mirage distortion. And the air would get sucked out of your eyeballs. Yeah.

it is mould in the cold and fungus in the warm.

Apparently that is actually true.

So the same species that grows as a mould on the wall of your bathroom in the cold leaky house... Will grow as a fungus in your lungs.

They have two different morphologies / life phases or whatever.

As a mould they are relatively slow growing.

As a fungus they form fruiting bodies so as to seed little spores of fungus about your body.

Fungus particularly likes to live in little holes made by tuberculosis.

I think NZ is likely doing observational studies trying to contribute to the mycology literature.

There is a page on different fungus you find it different parts of the US...

Not sure what we have here. I have been going on about aspergillus -- but I don't know that that is the one that has been growing in people's houses. I think it's a different one...
