Anyone using bacopa?

Posted by beckett2 on November 17, 2020, at 22:03:24

I'm looking at this for an autoimmune disorder. Anyone with experience, which form do you recommend, and what cautions, if any, are there? Thanks in advance.

I took it looking for adaptogens, and something to help my memory. A couple of times my mood really suffered as a result. It is said to do something to serotonin? I've never tried SSRIs of any sort so I can't compare with those. I have taken saffron and Relora without problems.

I forgot about the possible serotonin effects. Hashimoto's has elevated inflammatory markers (ofc), and bacopa seems to target the major ones involved in thyroid autoimmune disease.

Although turmeric does some of the same things maybe w/o the effect on serontoin...?

I read that it had an effect on serotonin and assumed it was that.

If correct it may be relevant to you with Trintellix onboard.

It was a kind of feeling I am not used to....not feeling acutely miserable (familiar enough) but more determined to do something about it, which rightly or wrongly made me think of those young shooters on SSRIs.

Just another theory. I was using it for memory.

I think there are CYP metabolism issues. I tried Bacopa in the past expecting an immediate effect, which didn't work.

Thank you. I'd overlooked this.
