'Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide...'

"Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide in patients suffering from psychiatric disorders: a cross-sectional study exploring the experiences of Dutch psychiatrists | BMC Psychiatry"

Well, one could call it "alternative" and it is a "treatment" in a certain way of thinking, although a very final in its solution. Maybe a solution when there is no solution anymore...

I mean, in one way the patient will decide either way. Denying them this 'treatment' will only lead them to 'self-medicate'.

The only thing that pisses me off is if/when when they don't use the 'good stuff' for patients before euthanasia.

For God sakes, throw some ketamine, psilocybin, weed, heroin, cocaine XR, amphetamines', opioids, etc. at them first.

I sure hope its not ... well you failed paxil so ... there's only one more 'treatment' left.

Hahahaha... indeed. They deem you treatment-resistant after you failed two SSRIs and Venlafaxine. It's ridiculous. No one is treatment-resistant until he hasn't tried TCAs, MAOIs, Ketamine, stimulants / amphetamines.

Exactly. I mean at least let the patient go on the 'good stuff' until maximal doses produce tolerance. Then, the patient can decide which way to go. At least then you might get another good year or two.

The dutch are pretty progressive in their way of handling mental illness. Other countries could learn a lot from them.
